Our favourite MTB routes

MTB routes

Three of our favourite routes for mountain bikers start right on our doorstep. So, get on your bike and have an adventure!

  • The Passerdam trail to Meran

Easy
This easy, 20km bike tour leads along the Passirio/Passer river and is especially suitable for beginners. It starts in St. Leonhard and ends in the old town of Meran.

  • To the Pfistradalm mountain hut

Intermediate
This intermediate tour takes you through unspoilt natural landscapes. The route runs via the “Happergweg” trail and trail no. 13 to St. Anna’s church, then to the Pfistradalm mountain hut and back again.

  • To the Pfandleralm mountain hut

Challenging
This difficult tour takes you along the “Passerdammweg” trail to St. Martin to the Gasthaus Passerblick restaurant. Then you follow the Prantachstraße road until you reach a forest road, which takes you to the Pfandleralm mountain hut.

Our favourite road bike routes

The following tours start right from the Stroblhof’s doorstep:

  • Passo del Rombo/Timmelsjoch pass (2,500m above sea level)
One of the most popular, and also most difficult, road bike routes in South Tyrol leads you up to the border pass between Austria and Italy. The route through the barren high mountain landscape is characterised by steep climbs and hairpin bends – but once you reach the top, you will not only find a magnificent view but also the impressive pass museum. Please note that the Passo del Rombo/Timmelsjoch pass is closed from mid-October to the end of May due to snow.
  • Monte Giovo/Jaufenpass (2,095m above sea level)
The Monte Giovo/Jaufenpass, the shortest route between Meran and Sterzing, takes you through a grandiose Alpine landscape in about 20 kilometres. If you want to tackle this adventure, be prepared for a gradient of up to 12% and an elevation gain of 1,700 metres. Along the way, several huts offer light or larger refreshments. This pass is open all year.
